Prayer for a Tourist

Written By (sagada genuine guides association inc). on Friday, August 7, 2009 | 9:53 PM

Heavenly Father, look down on us your most obedient tourist servants, who are doomed to travel this earth.
Taking photographs, mailing postcards, buying souvenirs, walking around in drip-dry underwear and muddy shorts.
Give us this day divine guidance in the selection of our Inns, that we may find our reservations honored, our rooms made up, and hot water running from faucets.
We pray that the telephones work and the operators speak our language.
Lead us dear lord to good inexpensive restaurants where food is superb, the waitresses friendly and the wine included in their price.
Give us the wisdom to tip correctly in currencies we do not understand.
Forgive us for under tipping out of ignorance and over tipping out of fear.
Make the natives Love us for what we are and not for what we can contribute to their worldly goods.

Grant us the strength to visit the valleys, the hanging coffins, the rice terraces, and the caves listed as “MUST” in the guide books.
And by chance we skip an important cultural site to take a nap after lunch,
Have mercy on us for our flesh is weak.

This is a modified tourist prayer copied from an unknown source….
