More than 15,000 tourists visited Sagada during the holy week season of 2009. Tourists were everywhere, tourist destinations were crowded and locals got very busy. Large amount of income entered Sagada however large piles of garbage cam along with them. Scattered all over major tourist destination sights, it irritated the eyes of the locals.
ahem!!! Ahem!!! SAGGAS forever!
The sights, especially the cave were at its worst, lots of dirt and garbage hides along the paths inside the cave.
At the tunnel area alone, we found at least 20 napkins inserted on hard to see places. Guys were so freaked out about them so pickers with rubber gloves did the dirty work.
If the inside was that bad, outside was worse; the parking space was a garbage space. Styrofoam and plastics were scattered all over the area. The guys patiently collected them for incineration and MRF storage.
