"Begnas id Sagada" 6 - 15 - 09

Written By (sagada genuine guides association inc). on Sunday, June 21, 2009 | 10:29 PM

BEGNAS is a Cultural festival celebrated often 4 times a year. Each celebration is patterned based on the Agricultural calendar of the i-sagadas (sagadians)..

LUCKY are those tourists who witness this kind of festival for there are no SET exact dates as to when will this happen. It is often made known atleast 2 - 4 days before it happens.

above are the men who went for the bath the earliest

SO............
How will you know if the Begnas is celebrated in the Twenty first century?

If boys are pausing for a picture inside the Dap-ay :D

above are Erwin, Perry and Hansen of SAGGAS

If men use headbands that are out of Fashion... hehehehehe...
he should have used a red one

If the Boys use Gasul and Liquid petroleum gas Torch at the "patpatayan" to remove the pigs hair.
the first time a blue torch and a gas tank was taken to the "patpatayan"

If you see guys shooting with their SLR and DSLR cameras
..
@left: Tommy H. @right: Roel

If you see old men using Islander Sandals!! :D
uncle Jayme Capuyan's ever old slippers

The youth take videos using their cellphones :d
Audy Ayban of Dagdag taking videos of old men chanting at the "pat-patayan"

If wrist watch goes along with that,,,,, ammmmm..... armlet band made of wild boar tusk :D

if G-strings are on Top of Briefs
tsk! tsk! tsk!

If you see other nationalities offering at the festival like...
..
a Korean ________________________or a European

When other offerings come in Soda's and Gins

If the Men use Belt to keep the G-string from loosening and falling off :D
If that cute person below who happened to be featuring this piece attends the BEGNAS using a pair of Crocs(imitation)... bwahahahahahah!!!

atleast the colors match noh!!

Hahaha, modernize talaga ang Sagada. You should have included the picture of ole grandpa in his g-string regalia surfing in the internet using a laptop or a picture of an igorot elder with a cellphone case on his side instead of an old pig's bladder to carry meat (watwat). This is so cute indeed.

why do we always try to "englisize" our name? just simply call us isagada to promote our own language/dialect. Sagadians is a very ugly in my hearing!
