When I think of Sagada, it's not only the great sceneries I remember, I can't help thinking of the good people too. From little ones who's always ready to give us their cute 'hellos' to the ate's who are always ready to entertain us in their stores, at syempre to all SAGGAS we've met. Special thanks to Gareth, (ehemm.. next to Lester.. hehe). Ei Garreth, thanks for waking us up for a great pose in Banaue, hehe. We had a great time going to Bontoc with you guys on a topload. Thanks for all the infos. You're truly SAGADA's pride. O cya, sobra sobra nang kabayaran to sa pagpapapicture namin sayo. haha! Stay cool dude!!! And keep that passion for the glory of Sagada!!! >LAI & VOLEN<

Hi there Gareth!

We were in Sagada last April 4-6, 2009.
According to Cris-our tour coordinator, Gareth is one of the most lovable tour guides. ^_^
Ehem. Well, Gareth is a cool dude. Suplado look lang pero he’s nice. Nakatutuwa rin ang stories niya about the places. I and my friends really enjoyed our stay in Sagada. The place itself is lovable. I love the environment, I love the cold climate. The people are also very nice and very accommodating. I want to hear again the lovely voice of the children singing in the rain…
I’ve visited various places, but as of now, this is the first place I wanna visit again soon. If possible, I wish to be here in November or December ’09. ^_^

Since Marjo already started sharing her noteworthy experiences in our Sagada Adventure last April 4-6, let me amplify it with my own idea.
Sagada is such a place to go. It's not just a place for sightseeing of stunning destinations, it also offers ultimate thrill and adventure. How I really want to remember the feeling of excitement during spelunking in Sumaguing Cave and trekking to Bomod-ok. They really tested my strong endurance and enthusiasm. Sagada has the bounty of wealth not even a well traveled person have ever experienced anywhere in the Philippines.

Our Sagada trip woud not be the same without our amazing guide, Gareth. He is such a wonderful person! For his sincere guidance, for being so bubbly, for showing us how great Sagada natives are and how proud he is of their culture, these made our trip with him extraordinary. I was there not because of the pleasure but I was there to learn to appreciate and admire those people in Sagada.

Thanks Gareth! We will still be looking for you when Marjo, Lio and I go back to Sagada with more friends wih us.

April 16, 2009 at 9:32 PM

Thanks! Gareth. We were such a short time in Sagada but those trips showed us some fascinating highlights... Kahit na merong death march & dapa mode, go pa rin! You are absolutely amazing.

Mmmm..Thanks din s blueberries, pears & passion fruits. ; )

Nice work ; )

April 28, 2009 at 1:35 PM

Gareth and Andrew Bagni,
Thanks for making our Sagada adventure more meaningful!
You don't act like mere guides but you help tourists engage in the treks and feel assimilated in the culture! Last weekend (Apr.25-27)was a blast because of your help!

For members of GCF Chancel Choir SAGGAS is number one!

April 28, 2009 at 4:29 PM

Hi gareth. Please check on for the accreditation of SAGGAS with the Department of Tourism for cave/mountain guides and tour guides. I think that should address your concerns about accreditations. Mas valid siyempre ito because these are already national offices.

I guess you forgot about us with all the people you were guiding. We went to Sagada May 1 to May 3. You gave us a brief orientation at Lumiang Cave. Our group did the cave connection. We are happy that your group, SAGGAS, were there every step of the way. In fact, i wrote about a blog about our spelunking and I mentioned you in it. Our group was very happy that we were the only ones who completed the cave connection (May 1). Rod was so patient enough to lead us from Lumiang to Sumaguing. We were so elated when he congratulated us while we are about to take the last 270+ stone stairs leading to the exit. Thank you so much for an adventure of a lifetime.

September 14, 2009 at 8:42 PM

Hi Gareth,

We did not get the chance to meet you but thanks for answering all of our questions about Sagada. He answered my IMs, emails and everything. Gareth answered each and every question that me and my group had. From the routes, the electricty, the itibnerary and the place to stay.I told Sir john that I communicated with you.

Dear Manong Malecdan,

I would like to thank you for the rare oppurtunity you have given us to explore the 'unexplore'. (naks!)

Bakit ba ang pormal..haha!

I hope hindi naman kayo nahirapan na i-guide kami that time. We really enjoyed that extra, heart pumping, nerve wracking and etreme caving experience!

On the down side, bitin ako sa chikahan moments with the group. Kaasar kasi dahil last day na namin yun.

Regards to all. Send my love and kisses to the 2 pretty girls, Jen and Sharon.

Iyaman! Iyaman!

With lots of hugs and kisses,

PS: Nakakatuwa yung caving outfit mo. Ang colorful. =)

Hi Gareth,

As promised, mag-post ako dito ng comments ko...

Thanks for guiding and taking care of us during our stay in Sagada (April 2-4, 2011).

Well, I will surely recommend you to our friends, so get ready...

Again, thanks for making us a Certified Sagada Survivor. Send also our gratitude and regards to Erickson, Lester, and Edwin. Thanks for their patience.

Salamat uli,

April 5, 2011 at 4:58 PM

Kuya Gareth,

Very late na nga po tong comment ko sa page nyo but it's better than sa wala at all. T'was my first time to visit the Shangrila of the Philippines and you guys made it memorable for me. I considered it the most unforgettable trip I've had in my entire life.

My friends wanna go there na din soon and if decided na sila and ok na yung plan nila (i might join them) I'll recommend SAGGAS especially kayo ni Erik, Erwin and Lester to be the tourguide of the group.

If makakapunta po kayo dito sa Manila, just contact us, since friends naman na tayo sa FB, and we will show you around the metro.

Until we meet again!

We planned to go to Sagada many times but due to our schedules, the plans we had was always postponed. Finally, we’ve been there just few days ago. We really did enjoy the Luminang-Sumaguing Cave or Cave Connection Spelunking with the help of our gorgeous tour guide Mr. Gareth, dake-dake ay yaman me ken sik-a. The spelunking we had was very fun, exiting, enjoyable and adventurous. We saw the awesome/ wonderful creations of God, the stalagmites, stalactites and the different rock formations (the queen, king, prince, rice granary, cake, elephants etc.). The hike to Echo Valley, passing through the church, cemetery, then going down to the rocks and shrubs to see the Hanging coffins was also fun, the fresh air and smell of nature was wonderful as well as having snacks under the trees, sitting on grasses and meeting a new friend (hi Ate Ana nice meeting you). How I wish we could go back to join the Sagada Bonfire Fest 2012.

Rest assured, we will come back for more adventure…… we want to try the extreme spelunking. For those who have not been to Sagada yet, arrange your schedules and make your visit now, you will surely love it.

Hi Gareth just want to say thank you so much for the help, assistance and the enjoyable tour we had with you.

Hello Gareth!!!!

I ran out of adjectives e.. but anyways, in behalf of my friends (Meann, Ivy, Grace, Rosette, Bhing, Candice and Ren), we would like to thank the hottest, the lovable and the best guide ever… whew!!! kinollate ko lahat ng sinabi nila pero ung best guide that's from me :P. Thank you so muuuucccchh Gareth!!!! We had so much fun and im sure nakulitan ka.. hahaha.. Thank you for patiently explaining everything that we see.. We did enjoy our trip kasi ang galing-galing ng guide namin.. kaya lang you didn’t tell us na magkakaron kami ng Sagada hangover! :( hmmmppp… especially me and Ren.. nagsuffer kami talaga… Actually, its kinda weird kasi hindi ako fan ng nature but I instantly love Sagada, its people and its culture..

I can still remember while on our way to Sagada, sabi ko talaga sa sarili ko, im not coming back (nakakaloka ang zigzag road e).. but now I am planning to visit Sagada every year.. why? Sagada for me is the best place ever… Thanks to you, Leo and (hurry) Harry..:)

Till next time, Gareth!

Shane :)

Hello Gareth, you were recommended by a very good friend of mine Dots Cardenas. Can you help us create a tour, departure in Manila February 16 ng gabi tapos arrival sana ng Manila February 19 o madaling araw ng February 20? Salamat. Pam

March 5, 2013 at 11:26 PM

Hi Kuya Gareth!
Thanks for the very awesome Sagada experience you had made us experience. :) You had made us love and appreciate nature whether from above sea level or underneath the grounds.
Ngayon, I have three wishes:
1. Go back to Sagada with my family.
Haha.

Well well. Thanks again. I hope to see you soon. Ikaw, si kuya Manny, si Kuya Ford, at yung iba pa. :) Thank you. Thank you!
