around 5:00 pm..

A thick Black smoke on the East side of Sagada would emerge.
As the day turns to dusk, reddish yellow flames appear on the mountain.

a forest fire ?
a bush on fire?

Its a cemetery on fire!!!!!!

Its All Souls Day in Sagada..

the most unique all souls day celebration in the world..
Typical practice is lighting candles on graves or tombs, but in Sagada, its bonfire..

all graves and tombs are lighted with both candles and firewood, anywhere, everywhere, fire is in all direction, the smoke thickens the clouds and the visibility drops..

Its one Hell of a Cemetery that can only be found in SAGADA the Shangrila of the Philippines.
