Hi,

I'm interested in going to Sagada from 9/15-9/18. How wet and cold would that be? Thanks.

thats September right!!! well, its still okay to visit the place, it has normal rain fall and the temperature is around 13 - 20 degrees centigrade.. the only thing you could worry about is when there is a typhoon.

what about travelling..is it safe, road wise. everyone beens telling me i'm insane to even try going on a rainy season but that's the only chance i have at the moment. thanks!

it's still safe, travelling during rainy season, normally, landslides are fixed, dozers and loaders are on stand by to fix the road everyday.. i travel a lot during rainy seasons and have never been trapped for so long.. anyway, i will update you guys for major landslides and weather updates of SAGADA. if only i could include a forum in this blog.. hehehehe

thank you thank you, i 'll check your blog as often as i can.. and as the dates get closer. what about this? route going to sagada.. take the manila-banaue-bontoc-sagada and going back sagada-baguio-manila. would that be the best way to go?

your route is the most common.. almost all tourists take that route.
i guess that is okay..

well sir, good luck with your trip and i hope you make it here in sagada with no problems..

August 3, 2007 at 7:27 PM

clickthecity.com will feature my sagada video soon and i will link your sagadagenuineguides blog gareth to promote tourism in sagada. i will inform you when they will feature it and i will ask them to feature my sagada video the longest. i hope this will help your association. i will see you guys soon.

im planning to go to sagada in feb '08,im thinking between george guest house and yabami inn.,and do i need to make an appointment tour or just by ourselves?

December 8, 2007 at 7:03 AM

I'm planning to go there this weekend.. for 3 days.. Is there a lot of tourist this week of december?

Anonymous
December 8, 2007 at 11:41 AM

the package was already offered to us when we were there in november :)

gareth
December 10, 2007 at 10:49 AM

@anonymous.. both of Yabami or George are good accomodations. however, i you have to consider the distance from the center of the town.. it would be more convenient or good choice if you take the Yabami lodge if you have your own vehicle.. if coming to sagada is through commuting. i suggest you take George..

@ jr
sorry dude, i haven't had the time to give you a reply.. well, less tourist came during the first week of december.. December is considered a tourist peak season so, i guess you expect more of em..

@ anonymous
what package.. hehehehe.. i hope it went well..

Anonymous
December 10, 2007 at 11:22 PM

^ yung all-in package po, wherein we get a chance to visit all the sites in a day for Php1200... :) we didn't avail of that package, actually. corny kasi kme. hihi... had the normal 3-site tour instead :) we enjoyed it naman :)

December 11, 2007 at 1:03 PM

thank you so much for d info.,now im chosing yabami instead.,one more question is it more convinient to take banaue to sagada or direct to sagada this is gonna be our first time thats y.,nd its just the 2 of us.,thanx again

@ anonymous 1
well, the 1 day tour package is good if you are adventurous type of people, so you could take it to your advantage.. but thats still okay!

@ anonymous 2
for easier transfer, i suggest you take the bus going to sagada directly.. but, then again, you can still try from banaue to sagada hop.

do we really need to book for the lodge before going to sagada?and do we really need to arrange the tour for 4days?can u please give me the add of the bus going to baguio wether its in pasay or cubao.,an aircon bus is much better.,sorry i got a lot of questions.,im not from manila thats why, hope u can help me with this, thank you, happy new year!

January 2, 2008 at 10:20 PM

hey anonymous!
1. if arrival in Sagada is Holy week (March or April) then you really need to book your accommodation in advance. as in 2 months earlier. if not holy week, no need to, there is a whole lot of accommodation for you.
2) You don't need to arrange a 4 day tour. you can just come to sagada and arrange it.. some people prefer it arranged in advance.
3) Victory liner.. http://www.victoryliner.com/pasay.htm
almost all buses going to baguio are Air conditioned..
4) feel free to ask more questions, ill be glad to answer em for yah! :)

Anonymous
January 3, 2008 at 5:17 PM

gareth are u saying that goerge guest house is better if we commute and yabami if we have our own car or the other way around?

hey anonymous.. yes exactly.. it would be better if you select george if you are going to sagada through public transport.. with yabami, it is preferably for tourists with their own vehicle.. but if your a tough walker, Yabami lodge is just .8 kms from the town center.. also with Rock Inn. it is more convenient if you have your own vehicle..

January 8, 2008 at 12:47 PM

hi!
my friends and i are planning to go there on holy week... isnt 2nd week of feb too late to book for accomodation.

mike
January 9, 2008 at 5:25 PM

gareth, which is closer? st.joseph or rock inn? and which of the two is better?

@kissy - it's not too late to book for your accommodation ("hopefully" hehehehe) you could try texting or calling each and every inn here in Sagada for available accommodation. if all else says they are booked, worry not, ill find you a good place to stay.

@mike - closer to where, the town? the cave? well Saint Joseph is closer both ways. but closer aint always better. if you want silence, perfect ambiance and a taste of natures peace, further comes better.. Rock Inn is best if you have your personal ride with you, but if not, Saint Joseph is a good choice. at least you are nearer to the towns center and nearer when going to the cave.

March 6, 2008 at 12:25 AM

@ Gareth or anyone.. please help

We are planning on driving from manila to banaue and stay there for 1 night. and then we will leave our vehicles and commute to sagada. Is this the best option? or should we drive to sagada as well? i heard that the road is not good. also, is the road from manila to banaue is good? because we are also considering road conditions and if we should just take the bus or use our cars instead? i still havent got the confirmations from the lodges yet, is rocky valley inn a good place to stay? or churya-a? thank you!!!

hello,

Im planning a trip to sagada this coming april 25-28,08. 10 to 15 pax.but we dont have a place to stay because we dont have any idea kung ano ang ok na place na nsa budget lang.and also ano ba ang mas maganda may own transpo kmi or we just ride a bus?tnx

wwwooooowwww!!! i missed answering those questions...

@ kissy - you could contact me through phone if you wanna reserve a guide.. 09295569553... guides will come from the municipal hall to. dont worry..

@ bubble.. i see, well transportation is still okay during the HOly week times however, the accommodation will be hell of a lotta problem.. 2 months ago, accommodations are already booked for reservation.. however, there will people offering their homes for people with no accommodation.. :D

@ sorry jhune. i was not able to meet you back then.. but it was good to know you already came here to sagada.. i hope you enjoyed your visit here.

@ sorry anonymous i failed to give you an e-mail...

@ michael - june is kinda rainy season month but its still okay.. if there is no storm, you can still come to sagada. it would still be fun im sure..

@ chie_392 - SAgada to baguio is (6 butt aching hours)
A private van would cost around 7k.
Yes I know someone.
There are no Aircon Buses coming here to Sagada.

2 full days here in sagada is pretty much okay.. GEtting to Ilocos from sagada, you need to get back to BAguio to be sure.. hehehehe. im not familiar with the transportation at the Bontoc - Cervantes ilocos sur route..

@ anonymous - well, March and April is a perfect time to visit Sagada. NOt much of a rain, and the rice fields are green... just try avoiding the Holy Week (march 20 - 23) or something...

@ michael - june is okay.. atleast there are lesser tourists by then.. youll just be meeting mostly foreigners...

@ KAT - What type of vehicle will you be using?
If your vehicle suspension has a low clearance, that is a good option.. if it has a high one.. bring it on.. hehehehe
The road from Manila to BAnaue is already good..

Kat - regarding your accommodation, its as if your running out of accommodation.. hehehehe.. well, both places are good.. anyone of those are still okay..

@ anonymous, well, am sure you'll find a good place to stay.. Sagada is one of the cheapest tourist destinations in the country.. ammm sa accomodation mga 250 per head lang naman ehh.. sa food amm mga 150 per meal..
kung may own transportation kayo.. bring it on. pero dapat prepared yun sa rough road ha.. pag public transportation naman. sagada is very accessible..

Hi, we are planning to go there sa May 9-11, we'll take the Manila-Baguio-Sagada so that we can leave morning instead of Manila-Banaue-Bontoc-Sagada kase 1 trip a day lang ang Autobus and gabi pa, my concern is, if we leave here in Manila around 6am around 11am or 12pm nasa Baguio kame, can we still catch a Bus going to Sagada (kase I read from a different site na early morning lang ang byahe ng Bus to Sagada from Baguio)? Thanks!

we've been to sagada last may08... i suggest there wud be a formal briefing on wat to expect will happen in cave connection... it was a trauma den. If we're informed, we won't pursue perhaps. tnx

@ anonymous
i would have help you if you asked me that before you went to sagada.. and it would have been a very good tour if you had a SAGGAS guide with you..

Anonymous
June 10, 2008 at 7:07 PM

to Saggas,

during our sight seeing we had one guide. wen we went cave connection, we had 3.. we had 1 saggas member with us then. i wudn't mention his name.. that's why i suggest to have a briefing before going cave connection. we're going back (different group of friends) on September but i'm still in doubt if i can recommend them the cave connection

we're planning to go in july, before july 12th.... anong palagay mo, safe ba ang time na ito...

June 13, 2008 at 8:38 AM

hi

we are planning to go to sagada next week.. we will be driving straight from manila.. will the roads be okay from banaue to sagada? can you give me directions going there?

@mr. anonymous1 - oww, that's a different story. we have reasons for that, but i cannot tell you, as it would destroy the other organizations reputation.. anyway, we hope things would improve with those guides..

@romel - if there is no threat of a storm, its very safe to visit sagada. its also a great time to visit the place as less tourists are present during your visit as it would give you the real feeling of a remote area.

@anonymous2 - yes, the road is safe.. the place is okay.. going there, you will proceed to bontoc, turn right to the big samoki bridge and follow the road..

I'd like to surprise myself with what's in store for me there, but at the same time, nakakatakot na baka wala akong matulugan doon :-) Please email me at kbtungol@yahoo.com or kbtungol@epldtventus.com

Thanks.

hi! my friends are i are planning to go to sagada from may 1-4, 2009. lucky for me, i found this great website that is very informative! however, i have some questions:
a.) do we need to reserve a tour guide ahead or we can just hire a tour guide when we get there? how about the vehicle hires?
b.) we're from manila..what's the fastest and easiest route to go to sagada? and going back, we want to pass by baguio..any suggestions?

my email add is maandoe(at) yahoo.com

Thanks!

A. no you don't need a to reserve a tourist guide because, you can easily get them at the municipal hall. or find them at Saggas office
B. Easier Route would be to take the CAble tours, passby banaue and end at bontoc, take a 45 minute jeepney ride to sagada. :d

going home, you can take the Lizardo bus to baguio.

Anonymous
April 21, 2009 at 5:45 AM

Hi,

How long would it take if we took that route via Cable tours? If we take the Lizardo bus from Baguio instead, would we still see any good views during the trip?

The 1,200 fee for the guide, is that per head and does that include all the places listed above?

Lastly, since we will be going there night of April 30th and leaving morning of May 3, are we in any danger of running out of bus tickets for Baguio - Manila?

Thank you!

good day!

i have a question. the 1200 rate for one day, how many guests/visitors does it cover.

thank you

September 29, 2009 at 11:06 PM

until 5 pax po un, if it exceeds until 9 you will be adding 500 pesos more, because that 500 will be payed for the additional guide at the cave. and another 500 more if you exceed 10 until 15.

however, if you do tours in a day without the cave tour, the limit will be until 15.

Anonymous
September 30, 2009 at 4:54 PM

hi!

what are the itineraries for the 1200 rate tour.

September 30, 2009 at 11:00 PM

the possible site you can visit for that 1 day tour rate is literally any site to your own choosing however.

if i would suggest,
1) Sumaging cave,
2) Bomod-ok falls trek,
3) Echo Valley

if you have your own vehicle and you still have your strength, you can add Kiltepan Sunrise hike, and Lake DAnum Sunset viewing along with a visit to the pottery..

but then again, sites you can visit for the day depends on the pace of your tours.

September 30, 2009 at 11:08 PM

if you are still unclear of how to start your itinerary, i could make it for you, you know..

provide me with details like
1) what is your mode of transport (example: public, chartered vehicle etc.)
2) how many are you in your group?
3) how many days and nights will you be staying there? included in the Day 1 is your arrival in Sagada and Day last is your departure.
4) tell me something about the group members (example: age range, occupation, students of..)
5) what is your theme for your tour?

don't worry, i help people for free.. :D

hi, this is anne..

how about an itinerary and budget for a young couple? we're planning our anniversary trip this november and we're both in our middle 20's. we plan to leave on a friday, maybe afternoon then we need to back in manila by monday before lunch. we'd be taking public transpo 'coz the route is unfamiliar and from what we heard, the roads are rough as well. the car might not take it..

we'd appreciate any feedback from you. thanks in advance! :)

Hello there sister!
The appropriate itinerary for your tour is 3 days 2 nights, w/c i place there on our lists of itineraries. check the URL below
http://sagadagenuineguides.blogspot.com/2008/10/3-days-2-nights-itinerary-expenses.html

well, it's a wise decision to take the public trasport but sometimes, it's an adventure to take your toy out for an adventure... hehehehe..

feel free to ask more questions, but it would be better attended if you direct your Query on my e-mail. crazyhim16@yahoo.com

Normal operations of buses are long restored so it's safe. Roads are passable and there is no landslide in Sagada. :D
I hope the highways people would fully restore the road by the end of november.

if you are goin to travel alone, will you suggest to take 1 daytour for P 1,2oo. will it cover spelunking?

November 26, 2009 at 12:24 AM

i suggest you take that day tour, for being alone, you can cover a whole lot of areas without delay. pacing would be a lot faster.

Hi

We are planning to visit Sagada next year mid (2010). We have a an AUV and a Pickup. 1 of our concern is the Gasoline station, where is the nearest gasoline station at Sagada. Also, is there a MAP available that we can look online if we are already at baguio and going to sagada?

Thanks in advance.

December 12, 2009 at 11:38 PM

We have gasoline Stations naman po sa Sagada sir. and bontoc also, which is 45 minutes away from sagada. the map, ammm. naku, wala pa po ako alam na map online, but ive seen em on books :D, di ko lang matandaan un.. if you there in baguio, you can just make way to la trinidad and from there, you can just follow the buses.. the road is not that confusing naman po :d

hi!

A friend and I are going to Sagada this December for a 4D/3N stay. Nakapagpa-reserve na kami ng inn so ang problema na lang namin yung tours at itinerary. Medyo hesitant kasi kami to do the caves alone, kahit pa may guide. Ang lonely ata kasi nun. :))

Anyway, I would just like to ask if we can join other tourist groups there on the spot, or talagang kanya-kanyang lakad 'to. May tentative itinerary na kami, although hindi ko alam kung feasible siya kasi ang haggard ata. :))

Any input on my query would be of great help. Thanks SaGGas!

Hi guys,

We're (2 of us) planning visit Sagada on Nov 27-29. Balak nmin mg-caving.. yng cave connections.. probably sa 28.
kung pwede sana you could hook us with other groups para mas masaya and we can meet new friends as well. boring kasi pg-dalawa lng kami.

the last time we experienced caving ganon din.. dalawa lng kami then sinama kami sa ibang grupo pra masaya.

appreciate your response.
Thanks.

-Jake

hello ice and jake,
well, i agree with the saying, the more the merrier, however, if it comes to Cave tours, it does not apply... Sure, you feel na you and the guides are alone inside the cave, but your level of safety is much greater.. Your guide will have lesser responsibility per head. At the cave connection, prices doesnt matter if you join groups because its 400/head..

The best way to go is when it comes to hiking tours and all, you can join groups to cut cost of guides and vehicle hires.. its best if you can talk with other tourists that you meet.

Hi! My friends and I are coming to Sagada on April 21-23. We are thinking though which is better accomodation, Yabami or Mary Hillz Homestay. We don't have a private vehicle. So how many minutes will we walk from Yabami to town proper. Thanks!

Well, Both are a bit further from town but very walkable.. Yabami is near Kiltepan View point, but Mary Hillz is near Lumiang Cave and Sumaging Cave.

Good Day SAGGAS! Me and my partner will go to Sagada next weekend (6/3/11)... and we're just curious, kaya ba ng daytour (Php1200) mapuntahan ung mga best tourist spot in sagada? (i.e. Cave Connections, Marlboro C., Small & Large Falls, Echo Valley, Lake) or atleast ilan kaya ang makakayang puntahan ng isang buong araw. 6am-6pm most exactly?
Hoping for your immediate response..
Thank You!

@whell4short: hmm. amm.di po included ung cave connection sa day tour. why not do the marlboro mountain, Bomod-ok falls(bigfalls) echo valley then lake danum. set the cave connection as a separate tour the other day..

Magandang Araw... Gusto ko talaga mapuntahan ang sagada at naka set na ako on April 20 (travel from Manila) to 24 (back to Manila). Pang tanggal stress. Malayo pa pero excited na ako. Ask ko lang from Bus sagada bus station ano pinakamalapit na Hotel/Lodge para di na ako sasakay, lakad na lang. Salamat

try nyo po ang SAGADA GUEST HOUSE.. kaya lang, almost all lodging ehh malapit sa town kaya not much of a problem ung distance ng lodging from the Tour Sites.
